Eligibility Criteria:
Open to any OCASI Member agency that:
- Is an agency in good standing.
- Has been in operation in Ontario for at least two year.
- Has a yearly budget below $1 million.
- Has financial statements approved by the Board.
- Demonstrate a financial need for accessing this fund.
- Address a need not already funded by external sources.
- Has not been the recipient of the membership fund for the past year.
Examples of eligible one-time expenses include:
- Costs to attend capacity building group training programs (agencies not eligible for OCASI Professional Education & Training Program, PET).
- One-on-one services and supports created for or tailored to the specific needs of the agency. (e.g., hiring of consultants, auditors, etc.).
- Furniture or equipment to support adjustments in delivery of ongoing services, meeting additional demand and costs for supporting new or adapted communication and outreach (e.g., technology/software/virtual platforms, equipment for remote working arrangements, new server, laptops, dedicated headsets, etc.).
- Additional costs related to managing increased pressures associated with the delivery of ongoing services, or to meet additional demand.
This fund will NOT support:
- Ongoing operating costs like rent, staffing, mandatory employment-related cost, employee benefits. etc.
- Request to fund previously/currently offered program or project
- Activities completed or costs incurred prior to the approval of the OCASI Support Fund application
How to apply
What you need to know before you apply:
- Eligible organizations can apply for up to $5,000.
- Agencies will be required to attach to their application form, a financial statement for one (1) year, the list of current serving board members and a signed board acknowledgment form (attached).
- An email acknowledging receipt of the application will be sent to all applicants.
- No extensions will be granted. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered by OCASI.
- Limited to one (1) application per agency.
- Member agencies cannot receive funding in consecutive years (i.e. member agencies cannot be funded two-years in a row).
- Applicants must submit proposals via the Application Form online. If this method poses any issues or challenges, agencies must notify OCASI as soon as possible.
- Submit early: It is strongly recommended that you submit your application early.
Review & Decisions
The OCASI Fund Review Panel, composed of OCASI Board of Directors and member agencies, will review applications and will make funding decisions.
Allocation of Funds:
Once the funding decisions have been made, OCASI will notify all applicant agencies of the results and arrangements for transfer of funds will be made with successful applicants.
