REPORTS TO: Associate Manager - Settlement
WORK HOURS: 35 hours/week (in-person)
RATE OF PAY: $17.60 per hour
EMPLOYMENT TERM: Fixed-term contract (8 consecutive weeks) June 22, 2026 – August 14, 2026

Job Summary
Reporting to the Associate Manager - Settlement, the Clerical Assistant will assist with clerical duties, provide reception coverage, respond to injuries, preparation of reports, and provide information to clients on internal and external programs. The incumbent is also responsible that sensitive material is kept secure and handled in an appropriate manner.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Arabic as second language preferred.
- Assist in clerical and administrative duties
- Provides coverage for reception duties, respond to telephone/email inquiries, schedule appointments for intake and assessment
- Provides information and orientation to clients on internal and external programs to address clients’ needs
- Provides assistance with Intake, Registration, Referrals, and Follow-ups
- Assist in preparation of various reports, schedules and data bases entries
- Provides support to program staff and front desk
- Researches for information relevant to client’s settlement needs
- Assists clients on the computer and provide a basic tutoring
- Contacts clients about upcoming events
- Maintains statistics for monthly reporting
- Maintain Health and Safety requirements
- Conduct outreach activities and liaise with community agencies and organizations
- Adhere to the agency's policies and procedures
- Other duties as required
Qualifications Required
To be eligible, youth must:
- Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment*
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment**
- Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
- *Youth must be 15 years of age at the beginning of the employment period.
- The youth may be more than 30 years of age at the end of the employment period as long as the youth was 30 at the beginning of the employment period.
- **International students are not eligible participants.
