Position Overview:
The Coordinator, Web and Graphic Design, assists with multiple projects by creating HTML newsletters, infographics, project toolkits, brochures, large-format materials, and web page designs (wireframes and mockups). The Coordinator, Web and Graphic Design will have a commitment to and awareness of equity, access to services, anti-racism and anti-oppression, gender justice, and anti-poverty as they relate to immigrants and refugees.
The Coordinator, Web and Graphic Design works closely with Digital Services and IT team members and other OCASI team members to provide support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design for various types of projects, including print and online materials
- Work closely with colleagues to translate written content into well-designed products
- Maintain all schedules and deadlines
- Manage projects from brief to final production
- Clearly and effectively communicate design processes, ideas and solutions to other team members and stakeholders
- Ensure adherence to established standards and best practices in responsive and accessible design
- Collaborate on the maintenance and ongoing design of digital products and related design assets, and support for non-digital projects such as print promotion materials, annual reports, etc.
- Produce design assets for use in digital products, social media and other marketing channels
- Develop and maintain consistent branding, and provide support to update graphics/logos in different formats
- Participate in OCASI technology strategic planning
Qualifications:
- Successful completion of a degree or diploma in graphic arts, web design, web development or equivalent experience
- Knowledge and understanding of issues facing Ontario’s immigrants and refugees and the member agencies that serve them
- Strong conceptual and creative thinking
- Strong understanding of typography and design
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent design applications
- Experience in video, web and multimedia design
- Experience with email marketing design is an asset
- Experience with HTML/CSS and/or Drupal theming is an asset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders
- Ability to be professional and maintain respectful communication
- Ability to function in a multidisciplinary, culturally diverse workplace and work with a wide range of client groups
- Comfortable multi-tasking, working in high-pressure situations as well as the ability to work quickly and on multiple projects at once
- Willingness to work in an environment where projects and priorities often change
- Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines and demanding schedules
- Good judgment, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team environment
Employment Details:
- Compensation : $53,813
- Job-type: Part-time position based on 21 hours per week (Mon-Fri)
- This is not a bilingual position
