Location: Mississauga - RAP Centre

Wages: $23.00/hour for 40 hours/week

                8:00am-4:30pm

This is a bargaining unit position.

Scope

Responsible for maintaining cleanliness of interior and exterior of RAP reception center, including cleaning, maintenance and repairs, and outdoor maintenance. The successful candidate must have a positive attitude for interacting with clients in a friendly and warm manner. 

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a clean, safe, and welcoming environment at RAP reception center for employees and clients
  • Cleans, dusts, vacuums, mops, washes, scrubs, seals, waxes, spray buffs, disinfects, brushes, and sweeps all surfaces, such as floors, walls, furniture, ceilings, fixtures, windows, glass partitions, and equipment. Uses heavy-duty cleaning equipment.
  • Garbage disposal, snow removal, cleaning windows, painting
  • Addresses minor maintenance and repairs issues, such as leaky faucets, light bulbs, damaged walls, ventilation, etc.
  • Promptly reports/addresses mechanical or equipment failure
  • Safely operates and maintains cleaning equipment
  • Sanitizes and disinfects surfaces as needed
  • Maintains cleaning supplies inventory
  • Adheres to safety protocols, including proper use of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Responds promptly to spills or accidents to ensure employee and client safety
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Completion of high school or a combination of education, and at least two years of janitorial or similar experience
  • Experience working in hospitality (hotel) a strong asset
  • Excellent customer service skills and listening abilities
  • Ability to work in a highly active physical environment
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting, stand, and walk for extended periods
  • Fluency in English is required
  • Knowledge of health and safety rules and regulations
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining professionalism
  • Effective organization and time management skills to prioritize and complete tasks on time
  • Ability to work flexible schedule as needed
  • Proficiency with additional languages is a strong asset

  • A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check (completed when offer is made)
