The Senior Coordinator, Equity Stream: C.A.R.E initiative is responsible for the development and launch of funding processes targeting equity-deserving, grassroots organizations in Ontario to address capacity gaps, and facilitate organizational and/or service capacity-building of the supported organizations.
The Senior Coordinator, Equity Stream: C.A.R.E initiative is responsible for administering fund distribution of the IRCC funding to grassroots community organizations (GCOs), that serve and represent equity-seeking groups, including those serving Black and Racialized communities, Women, LGBTQI+ communities, People with Disabilities, Seniors, and Youth.
What are the key responsibilities for the Senior Coordinator, Equity Stream: C.A.R.E Initiative?
- In collaboration with the Membership & Equity Manager, establish a transparent and equity-informed process for the distribution of funds to grassroots community organizations that serve and represent equity-seeking groups, including those serving Black and Racialized communities, Women, LGBTQI+ communities, People with Disabilities, Seniors, and Youth.
- Assist and provide guidance in support of the different components of the project.
- Coordinate all aspects of the Equity Fund call for proposals.
- Respond to sector enquiries and requests related to the Equity Fund.
- Conduct a Training Needs Assessment to identify the unique needs, gaps, and priorities of participating grassroots organizations.
- Work with the Equity fund team to develop a tailored training session plan to enhance organizational capacity of participating grassroots organizations.
- Coordinate the adaptation of the English tailored training sessions into French
- Work with the Equity team to develop and update content and structure of the Equity Fund promotional materials.
- Develop project work plans, timelines, and support implementation strategies and plans for OCASI and partner organizations.
- Dissemination of Equity Fund materials and products to members and other stakeholders through OCASI communication platforms.
- Coordinate all project activities including stakeholder meetings, periodic reports to the advisory committee, project partners and stakeholders, interim and final report to the funder, track project finances, knowledge dissemination of project findings and recommendations.
- Support the development and implementation of policies, administrative protocols, procedures, and measures within the project.
- Conduct an Environmental Scan to ascertain the resources and services currently available.
- Collect, analyze and report on data as required for the Council and other uses.
- Conduct agency visits as required.
- Provide monitoring and support to the grassroots organizations.
- Participate in regular OCASI meetings as required.

Required qualifications:
- Relevant post-secondary degree (e.g. social sciences, public policy, communications, immigration studies) or the equivalent acceptable combination of education and experience working in the non-profit sector.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a coordinator in a non-profit or community-based agency in the immigrant services sector or other relevant community services sector.
- Knowledge of the immigrant and refugee serving sector and its organizational capacity development challenges.
- Demonstrated ability to integrate in-depth knowledge of equity, access and anti-racism into all aspects of work.
- Knowledge of promising practices relating to Equity and Social Justice within the immigrant and refugee serving sector.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines and demanding schedules.
- Good judgment, problem solving and conflict resolution skills
- Experience in program coordination, including program planning, developing work plans, priority setting, keeping track of expenses, writing reports to funders, and evaluation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders and influence decision-makers.
- Outreach and marketing skills; ability to develop strong partnerships and engage stakeholders.
- Ability to function in a multidisciplinary, culturally diverse workplace.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability in performing administrative tasks
- Excellent organization and time-management skills; Ability to develop a work schedule, monitor progress, and track details, data, information and activities
- Aptitude for learning new media technologies
- Proficiency with computers and Internet including demonstrated experience utilizing social media tools to promote projects/campaigns
- Strong relationship building and networking skills as well as the ability to establish rapport with members, partners, staff and volunteers
Details
- Salary as per OCASI Salary grid is $57, 751 (this role is unionized with Unifor Local 87M)
- Job type: Full-time position based on 35 hours per week.
- Some overnight travel within Canada may be required.
*OCASI currently operates within a Hybrid workplace model.
