Hello,
The Canada Revenue Agency would like to inform you that it has set up a liaison officer service to offer free tax assistance to small businesses that are already operating or starting up, as well as to incorporated businesses and rental property owners. Tax information sessions are available virtually or in person.
During a seminar/webinar, a liaison officer will:
- Provide an overview of the Canadian tax system
- Answer questions (tax, GST/HST, payroll deductions, etc.) and address general tax-related concerns;
- Explain common tax errors and demonstrate how to use financial benchmarks for your industry or other similar industries;
- Answer questions about rental income and expenses;
- Provide information on the various tools and services offered by the CRA;
- Explain general bookkeeping concepts and best practices.
