OCASI's Accessibility Initiative is pleased to offer a NEW, FREE, 7-week, self-directed online course on: Disability and Inclusive Practice in Settlement Services: Levels 1 and 2

Course Dates:

  • Opening: September 16th, 2026
  • Closing: November 16th, 2026

Registration:

Criteria for Participation:

This course is open to settlement professionals who will:

  • Commit to approximately 3.5 hours of learning per week
  • Practice active participation throughout the course
  • Engage in the Accessibility Inclusion Group on SettleNet.org, a national online Community of Practice for the Settlement Sector
  • Complete the learning

Receive a certificate upon successful completion of either Level 1 or Level 2.

Key Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • Strengthen your confidence, skills, and impact in this essential work.
  • Understand disability and displacement, stigma and bias in migration systems, disability rights and policy, inclusive program and service design, crisis and emergency preparedness, supporting families and caregivers, and advocacy in practice.
  • Learn practical tools, real-life examples, and strategies you can apply right away both in your day-to-day practice and across your organization.
  • Better support immigrants and refugees with disabilities and D/deaf people
