OCASI’s Equity Stream Program is hosting a webinar series to support Grassroots Community Organizations (GCOs) across Ontario that serve and are led by equity-seeking communities. The series focuses on building organizational and service capacity, enabling GCOs to sustainably support their communities while addressing systemic barriers and delivering inclusive, culturally responsive services.
Community-Based Programming: From Co-Design to Evaluation
(A Two-Part Webinar Series)
Through these interactive and practical workshops, you will:
- Apply key concepts and principles of community-based programming, including co-design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation
- Build a structure and monitoring framework for continuous quality improvement
- Incorporate equity-focused data collection into everyday program delivery
Webinar 1: Community-Based Programming, Co-Design, Implementation & Monitoring
This session introduces the foundations of community-based programming. You will explore key concepts such as community, collaboration and positive change, and guiding principles that keep programs client-centered, responsive to needs, outcome-driven and resource-effective. Participants will apply these principles across the full program cycle, from planning through monitoring and evaluation.

Webinar 2: Equity Data Collection and Continuous Quality Improvement
Building on Workshop 1, this session will explore how organizations can collect and use equity-focused and disaggregated data to understand who they are reaching and where gaps may exist. Participants will be familiarized with principles of community ownership of equity data advanced by Indigenous and Black Canadian communities
