On February 8th, 2023, the Ontario Council of Agencies Serving Immigrants (OCASI) hosted a Knowledge Exchange Event on Mental Health Promotion in Immigrant and Refugee-Serving Organizations.
This one-day virtual event was an opportunity for organizational leaders and service providers to share lessons learned from implementing the Mental Health Promotion Integrated Service Model and to collaborate with key stakeholders across the settlement, primary care, and mental health sectors on the future of mental health promotion. Major themes of discussion were on how to build a trauma and violence-informed workplace that prioritizes client and staff mental health, especially in consideration of the many systemic issues impacting our work today.
