Summary

The National Housing Council has convened a Review Panel to examine the lack of accessible housing across the country, at the request of the Federal Housing Advocate.

Hello,

The National Housing Council has convened a Review Panel to examine the lack of accessible housing across the country, at the request of the Federal Housing Advocate. This process is a critical opportunity to ensure that the experiences of im/migrants and refugees are adequately reflected in federal housing policy and action.

Who can submit?

  • Individuals/clients
  • Organizations

Each submission brings essential knowledge of the systemic barriers immigrants and refugees face in accessing safe, affordable, and accessible housing. From long wait times and inaccessible units to gaps in coordination between housing and housing supports, your insights are important to shaping meaningful, rights-based recommendations.

We strongly encourage you to:

  • Share personal and organizational experiences, data, and real examples
  • Highlight systemic barriers and service gaps
  • Put forward practical, policy and program recommendations

This is a key opportunity to move beyond service delivery and directly influence national housing policy in a way that reflects the realities of the communities we serve.
