This is a non-union contract position scheduled to work onsite 35 hours per week**

DUTIES                                                                                                                      

  • Provide intake, assessment, counselling, follow-up support and referrals for at least 200 clients who are most distant from the labor market through various intake sources including the Toronto Employment and Social Services Purchase of Employment Services (POES) system. 
  • Ensures that at least 160 participants are moved to Integrated Employment Services (IES) for further employment, skills training/development supports, placement, and retention services 
  • Prepares and delivers recurring 2-weeks in-person group workshop sessions covering life skills and motivation with topics such as but not limited to Self-Esteem & Confidence Building, Time Management, Goal Setting, Stress Management, Hygiene, and other topics that enhance client’s employability. 
  • Creates and updates all program materials and curriculum needed to ensure the quality of information being presented is accurate and timely.
  • Tracks and monitors program progress to ensure that all program service targets are met.
  • Ability to identify any program service issues that may impact on program deliverables and report them to site management on a timely basis 
  • Responsible for inputting all service activities and outcomes including client information, case notes and other program service related data into CIS and WCG’s FFAI data management systems
  • Provides guidance and support to program support staff, and placement students as required 
  • Responsible for coordinating daily operations of the program, maintaining a high standards of service delivery
  • Participates in community outreach events and activities for the purpose of intake and to identify community resources, services, and programs that support and address clients’ issues. 
  • Work together with clients to develop a personalized action plan that will address their immediate needs and issues.  Avail this plan to the IES employment Consultant 
  • Prepares and submits statistical and services reports to the management team.
  • Provides clients with one-on-one support that assist and enhance their ability to obtain employment.
  • Participate in regular team meetings and support the delivery of Centre services.
  • Arrange guest speakers and assist with Job Recruitment events as needed 

     

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Social Services Worker Diploma or equivalent with relevant work experience.   
  • Minimum twelve (12) months of full-time Employment Service Coordination, counselling and/or  facilitation experience. Preference will be given to those working with Ontario Works marginalized and hard to serve clients.
  • Must have experience in facilitating workshop covering at least 6 topics of Life Management Skills such as Stress and Time Management, Interpersonal and Communication Skills, Self-Esteem and Confidence Building, Goal Setting, Social Development skills/ emotional intelligence, Problem solving and Decision-Making skills, Hygiene, and resources to address other concerns that can improve client’s employability.
  • Strong knowledge and experience working with Ontario Works Case Workers and marginalized client groups from the City of Toronto. 
  • Must be able to work independently and be self-directed carrying on a full caseload, and possesses strong case management skills. 
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office Package skills, especially Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Thorough knowledge of local community-based services and programs that support marginalized groups facing multiple barriers and issues. 
  • Demonstrated skills providing services using virtual tools: zoom, web apps, internet, and Windows environment software etc.
  • Sensitive to and aware of the social problems facing immigrants and in particular marginalized community groups who face multiple barriers relating to stabilization.
  • Level B Certification in Intake Assessment tools is considered an asset.
  • Experience working within the POES, and WCG’s FFAI system is an asset.
  • Life skills Training Coach Certificate would be an asset.
  • Must be fully vaccinated or be exempt from vaccination on human rights grounds. COSTI reserves the right to require information establishing the validity of the exemption
  • Must work in office five days a week
